Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam

The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) is a government-owned business school and an Institute of National Importance located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India.[2 It is among the 20 Indian Institutes of Management. The school began its first cohort of its Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management in August 2015.[3The program is a part of the Visakhapatnam (also called Vizag) can be described as the biggest city in the Indian State that is part of Andhra Pradesh. It is the Visakhapatnam district's administrative capital and the Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy. The city's geographical location is in the Eastern Ghats mountain range and along the Bay of Bengal.

Academics

The institute provides Post-Graduate, Doctoral, and Executive Education programs. It also offers the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP). An all-year full-time, two-year residential MBA program is the most prestigious program, which is being provided to students admitted via The Common Admissions Exam. [44 PGP is being supplied at IIMV is an all-inclusive, general management program and covers courses in behavioral sciences, accounting, economics, finance, Human Resource Management, business operations, marketing, and public policy strategies, entrepreneurship well, and general management. IIM Visakhapatnam also offers two-year executive MBA programs part-time and for executives in the workplace. As of 2019onwards, IIMV began the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program under its instructor IIMB.[66

In 2019, IIM Visakhapatnam launched an executive program of its own, Post Graduate Program in Digital Governance and Management (PGP-DGM), which will lead to awarding an MBA degree. This program was launched under the auspices of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the Govt. of India (GOI). 7.

Campus and campus location

IIM Visakhapatnam is initially functioning from its campus at Andhra University, and the permanent campus will be built in Gambhiram, located on the outskirts. The temporary campus' classrooms are constructed according to guidelines of the Harvard Business School model, and the teaching method is based on case studies. The institute is led by the Director Professor Chandrasekhar Mylavarapu, an IIT Bombay, Delhi Alumnus, and former Director at ASCI, Hyderabad.
